CDN Erasmus+ on tour around Scotland

The CDN Erasmus+ Workshop has been on the road and visited Inverness, Perth, Glasgow, West Lothian, Ayrshire, New College Lanarkshire and Forth Valley College and last week it was the turn of, what was on that particular day, the sunny Elmwood campus of  Scotland’s Rural College, set in the beautiful Fife countryside.

Staff at the workshop were very enthusiastic about increasing SRUCs Erasmus activity and  the different types of opportunities that can open up through Erasmus+. Staff were encouraged to think big; to think about visiting and partnering up with world leading institutions. This most recent activity will see staff visiting other countries to seek out good practice and innovation and build partnerships that will offer more of  SRUC’s students the chance to gain international work experience, while developing new skills and experiencing living in another culture.

Have a look at the photo to see some of the excellent staff ideas – nature reserves and turf houses in Iceland, horse breeding in the States, visiting Bern University’s School of Agriculture, Forest and Food Science and Wagemingen University in the Netherlands and yes that is a tractor and a glass of champagne – what a combination and what a trip that’ll be!

Want to find out more? Well the next stop is CDN’s Open Up Your World with Erasmus+ Conference on Friday 8 September at The Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow. This exciting event offers a fun and vibrant approach to finding out about the benefits of overseas experiences for both staff and students.
