Raising awareness of overseas opportunities with Erasmus+

On Wednesday 2 August, Forth Valley College staff and students attended the latest in a line of Erasmus+ workshops offered by College Development Network (CDN). The workshops are designed to raise awareness of college staff and students about the opportunities offered by the programme.

The workshop was attended by both staff and students from across the College including the Student Association, Development and Fundraising, Business Development and International Development. Those involved learned about the benefits of being involved with Erasmus+ and watched videos filmed at West Lothian College in which staff talked about how both they and their students had benefitted from their Erasmus+ experience.  The videos highlighted how student involvement in Erasmus+ had increased retention and success as well as having a positive effect on confidence and employability. Later in the workshop Forth Valley College staff and students generated 16 ideas for Erasmus+ projects at the College (view image above), and using their creative skills, went on to develop a couple of them in more detail (view images below). Some of these ideas are set to develop in to Erasmus+ applications that will benefit staff and students, while also broadening the international reach of the College.

The next workshop is back at Forth Valley College on Friday 18 August and then on to SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) on Thursday 24 August.
