Minister for Employability and Training Jamie Hepburn announced on 7 September the £10 million pilot Flexible Workforce Development fund. Ewan Scott from the Food and Drink Industry Growth Team of the Scottish Government indicated he would like to see food and drink employers using this in colleges for workforce development. An opportunity for those who want to take it.

Background

•    Levy-paying employers in Scotland can access up to a maximum total of £10,000 of college provision through the Flexible Workforce Development Fund
•    It will be delivered through Scotland’s college sector bringing it together with industry to support in-work training through up-skilling or re-skilling of existing employees.
•    The fund will be available to all levy-paying employers with an initial application window of 11th September – closing on 15 December 2017.
