Video-conferencing by Colin Wheeler

From 1 March 2018, Jisc’s video-conferencing (VC) platform, Vscene, will become a paid-for service run by Ajenta. As a result, colleges and universities are faced with a choice – continue with Vscene, or choose from one of the growing number of vendors that supply VC services to the sector.

CDN invited a number of vendors, including Jisc/Ajenta, to make a case for their offerings. Also on the programme was a presentation from West College Scotland who have decided to opt for a ‘Skype for Business’ solution, and a presentation from APUC which described the available procurement options.

David Black provides the background to West College Scotland’s decision to move to Skype for Business as the College’s unified communications solution.
