Sandy Murray, Head of Curriculum and Teaching

A former Royal Navy submariner, Sandy is a graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University in Mechanical & Electrical Systems, he also holds the Diploma in Engineering Management. He went on to lecture at Lauder College and went on to become Assistant Head of School (AHoS) for Engineering, overseeing all aspects of the engineering activities at Fife College.

Using his in-depth Engineering Business knowledge Sandy joined Scot-Train as the General Training Manager responsible for providing workforce development and testing, within a range of engineering sectors across the UK.

He is a Fellow and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and is active in the development of new Engineers within Scotland for the IMechE.

Gina Wilson, Head of Innovation and Partnerships

Gina joins CDN from the Carnegie UK Trust, where she focussed on developing innovative practice, building cross-sectoral partnerships and digital communications. Gina led the Trust’s digital inclusion work with vulnerable young people, challenging the assumption that all young people are ‘digital natives’. Gina also worked on progressive place-based interventions; innovation in high street and peri-urban enterprise; the development of interactive data platforms; and public service hackathons. While at YouthLink Scotland, Gina coordinated the development and rollout of the Scottish Government’s youth engagement, education and social marketing initiative ‘No Knives, Better Lives’. Gina volunteers within the Children’s Hearing System and Scottish Prison Service – a commitment to inclusion and education continues to be the thread through her work.

Victoria Pyle, Head of Leadership and Governance

Victoria brings wide-ranging knowledge of further education both within the UK and around the world having worked in international FE for 7 years.  At Edinburgh College, she was responsible for expanding the college’s international portfolio of commercial activity, developing strategic partnerships, as well as leading a number of high-value projects in TVET.   Victoria has also served as Vice-Chair of the CDN’s International Network and the Association of Colleges’ Latin American Business Group. Prior to this, Victoria undertook a number of political policy roles in both Edinburgh and London.
